My current body of work deals with rich food. Wet drips, edible paint, sticky pieces of slimy chewed gum, splatters of color depicting luscious foods, and a smell to confuse viewers as to what my paintings actually are. In addition to acrylic and oil paints, I work with chocolate, chewed gum, traditional cake decorating tools and practices and I am currently expanding my mediums to gummy bears, hard candies, frosting, and marshmallow recipes. I have a deep connection with both food and art that inspires me 24/7 so combining the two seemed to be the only right choice for my artwork. I am inspired by food cravings, delicious smells and decadent desserts that are sure to provide anyone with cavities. It is a subject with endless possibilities and I am eager to see where I can go with it. I am currently a senior at the College for Creative Studies majoring in Fine Arts and Art Education. When I graduate, I will be exhibiting in galleries and I will be teaching art to inspire the younger generation with great ways to express themselves through artwork.
