Andrzej Sikora was born in Zielona Gora, Poland, 1956. He studied fine art at the Academy of Fine Art in Wroclaw, which exists as an academic center for over two hundred years. Andrzej Sikora completed his study and received his Master of Fine Arts in fine art painting and architecural painting in 1982, graduating with honors. After working eight years for his alma master as an Assistant Professor in painting and drawing he was awarded to the position of Adjunct Professor in 1989. Since his study he has been very active artistically in a wide range of medium developing proficiency in all: fine art painting, fine art graphics, and architectural painting.
Several years after he completed his academic work Andrzej became focused on fine art graphics. While actively participating in international field of fine art graphics he continued to develop and produce oil on canvas but less time he spent on murals. His passion for art is exemplified by his vital interest in fine art paintings as exploration of consequences through different mediums where each of them has something to say about form, subject, color, light, and feeling. The expression of his painting tells about universal matter, intensely personal when defined, specified, or made particular by a lyrical expression that triggers recollected feeling, experience, or personal moment. Andrzej Sikora participated in many group and individual exhibits in Poland, Europe, and United States. In 1990 he moved to America where his interest in murals found full expression. His talent caught the eye of Art Van's art director who hire him to work at a newly built Elslander's mansion in Grosse Pointe Shores. Whole work that included several murals, special frescos on wet plaster, decorative painting, and portraits of whole family took two years. After that project doors to new ones were open. Long relation with "Andiamo" brought realization numbers of new murals in public places. That time Andrzej participated in many Show Houses, he worked with many known interior designers and Interior Design Studios, in different Corporations and the Opera House, privet houses and residences in Michigan and other states leaving behind walls full of harmonize brush strokes. Presently he lives in Troy in the "Northwyck Villas" subdivision and works in Detroit for his company "decora, Interior Art Design, Inc." |
